Our Vanilla from Madagascar
In collaboration with local partners, we launched our Project "Vanilla from Madagascar". The raw material is being supplied directly by farmers from selected areas in the sava region of Madagascar, where we support various sustainability initiatives.
This is how we take responsibility for people, for the environment and for our quality:
- Collaboration with local farmers working across three villages: Marofototra, Marofinatra & Andranalingoza.
- 100% traceability, while at the same time making sure farmers receive fair waiges without involving middlemen.
- New employment opportunities for local people, by planting further vanilla crops.
- Construction of health facilities, water wells and solar-powered stoves.
- Training on best agronomic practices.
- Waste collection activities, which we support with monetary incentives.
